Title

The Warblington Villa

Description

An exhibition of the Warblington Villa by the Chichester and District Archaeology Society which ran from 4-7-2015 to 2-8-2015

The Chichester and District Archaeology Society (CDAS) has been working on the site of the Warblington Villa complex since 2006 and has carried out excavations on four occasions in the past four years - the last time in 2014. The work has been supported by Chichester Harbour Conservancy, English Heritage (now Historic England), Havant Borough Council and Hampshire County Council.

Initially seen as the site of a minor Roman settlement, it has produced many surprises. The exhibition by Dr Trevor and Mrs Ann Davies will include some of the finds to date together with an explanation of their archaeological importance and will help to explain life in the area in Roman times and how the local sites in Havant and Horndean relate to each other.
