Emsworth Museum Opening

Emsworth Museum Opening

Saturday 1st August

The E.M. & H.T. Committee is planning to open Emsworth Museum on Saturday 1st August and has started to implement the actions that will allow this to happen safely – protecting our volunteers and also visitors.

As an example - all visitors might be asked to sign in and leave a telephone number / email address.

The decision will be reviewed in mid-July based on the latest statistics, trends and Government advice.   While we are keen to open the door once more, we will not do so if we conclude that the risks are too great.

Although many of the David Rudkin Room exhibitions organised for 2020 have been postponed a variety of displays are being arranged for August, September and October.

The Main Room had been set up with new and re-arranged displays prior to the covid – 19 lockdown and these will continue unchanged until the museum closes for winter work on November 1st.

If you see the banner flying from the flag pole and the “OPEN” notice on the north street side of the building you will know the museum is open and you will be assured of a warm welcome.

For an update on the re-opening, safety measures and exhibitions please telephone 01243 378091,
