Welcome to our New Curator.
Our Chairman, Tony Stimson welcoming Philip Magrath.
Following the sad and unexpected death of Linda Newell in April 2015 the Trust had been looking for some time to appoint a new person to record, care for and display the many items that tell the story of Emsworth’s special cultural and social history. It soon became evident that we should look for more than one person to take on this work and we are pleased to confirm that Philip Magrath has accepted the first of the two posts that have been created. He took up the duties of Museum Curator on 27th October 2015.
Philip is in full time employment as Curator of Artillery at the Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson and he has agreed to join us as a volunteer with the special responsibility of caring for and displaying the photographs, documents, pictures, artefacts and memorabilia that are held in Emsworth Museum. We are eagerly looking forward to benefiting from his experience and knowledge.
Philip lives in Emsworth and hopes to meet many of our members and visitors at weekends during the summer months when Emsworth Museum is open.
