    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Colour print mounted and framed professionally (John Jones, Museum standard Framing, framed 14.02.2007)  in a robust and heavy aluminium frame. The worker are English Electric employees in the Transformer Section of the company at the Trafford Park Works, Manchester. Here they manufactured heavy electrical and traction engineering. Amongst many other heavy industrial products they manufactured a range of military aircraft such as the Canberra and the Lightning. The print is 43 cm x 60 cm and the frame 60 cm wide x 77 cm in height and 50 cm thick. The workers are carefully checking the installation of an electrical transformer where even a slight gap can cause an explosion. Broomfield saw a poignant embrace of man and machine in the form of a routine inspection.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Made of heavy wool serge. Five buttons vertically down the front. Double metal fasteners at the base of the lapels. Double breast pockets.  On right and left hand side buttoned shoulder flap is a &#039;CIVIL DEFENCE HAMPSHIRE&#039; badge below which is &#039;WARDEN&#039; on both sides. On left hand side sleeve is a badge &#039;BOMB RECONNAISSANCE&#039;. Through the left hand side shoulder flap is a white lanyard encircling the garment. Lower right hand side sleeve are four red stripes. Right hand side upon pocket lining is a small stiched on label that reads: BLOUSES ARP 57 Size No.11 Height 5&#039;7&quot; to 5&#039; 8&quot; waist 36&quot; to 38&quot;. STARK BROTHERS (Salford) Ltd. 1941.  Also came with a brown leather (non-issue) belt.<br />

Used as a voting box by the Independent Order of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, Havant Lodge. Inside is a plastic bag containing a number of small cubes (1 cm) some dark wood some light wood as counters used in the voting process. Small circular hole in the top for placing the counters.
