New Zealander, Sir Peter Blake was a renowned figure in Emsworth being both a famous sailor, winner of the America’s Cup, and an environmentalist. He was shot and killed by pirates who boarded his research vessel whilst he was monitoring environmental changes in the Amazon River 20 years ago.
