Box Iron
Description
Cast iron unit with a wooden handle. At the rear is a lifting rod that lifts a door exposing the iron's interior. Into this is placed the slug Marked '3' which has been heated on a range. The whole iron is thus heated. Usually two slugs were deployed, one heating on the range whilst the other was being used. Main body is 130 mm x 150 x 85. The 'door' is stamped H. CRANE
