Great Coat (Naval) and trousers

Description

Great coat also known as a watch coat as worn by Kleber Degris of the Free French forces at Bir Hakeim Camp off Southleigh Road. A large overcoat of wool designed for protection against the elements. Double breasted with eight brass buttons on the breast, four smaller brass buttons on the cuffs either side of a rank ribbon. There are shoulder flashes on the coats on the left-hand and right-hand sides. There are three buttons (made by J.R. Gaunt & Son Ltd., London) on the rear belt. 1.2 m in length and 53 cm across the shoulders. The trousers are of the same material 1010 cm in length. Condition is good.
