Drum of the type used by a marching band.
Description
This marching bass drum is comprised of a hoop at the top holding the batter head side membrane, a bottom hoop, a shell and an air hole upon the shell. The shell and the hoops are painted red, black and cream. A thin rope is lashed between both hoops attached with leather adornment. Head width is 74 cm, height 37 cm. Belonged to the Emsworth Silver Brigade, established 1907 and probably disbanded in 1914. Found under the stage of the Pavilion Cinema. Painted on the shell in white paint: Emsworth Silver Star Brigade [with a coat of arms 'United we stand divided we fall Established October 23rd 1987.'
