Description
The frontispiece has the crest of HMS Penelope and the motto Constantia et Fide meaning constancy of the faith. Below is the date 25th December 1939. The second page shows two ratings in cartoon carrying a flaming Christmas pudding. The third page lists the following: Breakfast: Roll and Butter, Ham and eggs, Marmalade. Dinner: Tomato Soup, Roast Turkey and stuffing, Baked potatoes and peas, Christmas Pudding, Penelope sauce, Nuts, raisins. Tea; Christmas Cake. Supper: Pea soup, cold roast pork, pickles, mince pies.
