Pulley Block
Description
Used as a pulley for a rope aboard ship. Comprises two pieces of wood bolted together at top and bottom with a circular wheel of wood in between. This is cut with a channel for the rope to sit in. Condition is poor. The circular wheel has spilt in half and the two outer pieces are dessicated and losing fibres. 13 cm wide 20 cm in height. Dredged up near East Head, Chichester Harbour entrance.
